Tracking Delivery

Delivery statuses and how to monitor email delivery in the dashboard.

Every email sent through Molted Email is tracked through its full delivery lifecycle. You can monitor delivery status in Dashboard > Sent.

Status lifecycle

Emails progress through the following statuses:

queued → accepted → sent → delivered
                        ↘ deferred
                        ↘ bounced
                        ↘ complained
                        ↘ failed
StatusDescription
queuedThe send request passed policy checks and is waiting to be sent.
acceptedThe email provider accepted the message for delivery.
sentThe message was handed off to the recipient's mail server.
deliveredThe recipient's server confirmed receipt.
deferredDelivery was temporarily delayed. The system will retry automatically.
bouncedThe email was permanently rejected (e.g., invalid address).
complainedThe recipient marked the email as spam.
failedDelivery failed after all retry attempts.

Dashboard

Go to Dashboard > Sent to see all sent emails with their current delivery status. You can filter by status, recipient, template, and date range.

Terminal statuses

Once an email reaches delivered, bounced, complained, or failed, it will not change status again. These are terminal states.

Automatic suppression

When a bounced or complained event is received, the recipient is automatically added to the suppression list. Future sends to that address will be blocked with reason suppressed. See Errors for details.
